Medical First Responder


This course is designed to teach First Responders advanced first aid techniques: how to sustain life, prevent further injuries, and the consequences of further injury until more advanced medical personnel arrive. About this course:

  • 40–44 hours
  • Includes CPR Level HCP
  • Includes AED (Automated External Defibrillation) certification
No prerequisite or pre-course assignment is required. Topics include:

Preventing Disease Transmission Bleeding and Shock Heat and Cold Emergencies
Primary Survey Sudden Illness Special Populations/Crisis Intervention
Secondary Survey Soft Tissue Injuries Childbirth
Measuring Blood Pressure Musculoskeletal injuries Reaching and Moving Casualties
Respiratory Emergencies Injuries to the Head and Spine Multiple Casualty Incident
Cardiac Emergencies (CPR-HCP) Injuries to Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis
